Doha: In a significant update to the country’s official public holiday policy, Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad has approved a ministerial decision that designates working days falling between two public holidays as paid holidays, starting from 2025.

As per the newly issued gazette, the minor Eid (Eid al-Fitr) holiday will span from Ramadan 28 to Shawwal 4, while the major Eid (Eid al-Adha) holiday will extend from Dhul Hijjah 9 to 13. Additionally, Qatar National Day remains a public holiday.

The updated law also clarifies that if a weekend falls between two public holidays, it will be counted as a public holiday as well. This move aims to streamline holiday schedules and enhance employee well-being across the country.
