Qatar Allows Expatriates to Update Passport Details via Metrash2 App

Doha: Qatar’s Ministry of Interior has upgraded the Metrash2 app to include new features that enhance convenience for both nationals and expatriates. Among the latest updates is the ability to update passport information directly through the app without the need to visit any service center.

Expatriates can now change their passport details by navigating to the 'Residency' section in the Metrash2 app and selecting the ‘Change Data’ option, followed by ‘Change Passport’. Users are required to scan and upload clear images of the front pages of their new passport, ensuring all details are visible and properly aligned within the designated frame.

Once the images are uploaded, the user will be prompted to pay the applicable fee, which will be displayed during the process. Following submission, a representative from Qatar ID QPost will contact the applicant, and the updated passport will be delivered by mail to the provided address.

This initiative is part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to improve digital services and provide a more user-friendly experience for citizens, residents, and visitors in Qatar.
