Doha: In a move to promote data transparency and support national development, Qatar’s National Planning Council (NPC) has officially relaunched the Qatar Open Data Portal. The upgraded platform now features a more user-friendly interface, a broader range of datasets, and new analytical tools to better serve researchers, businesses, and the general public.

The announcement was made by H.E. Dr. Abdulaziz bin Nasser bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, Secretary-General of the NPC, during a special forum organized by the National Statistics Center under the theme: ‘Toward Integrated National Data Governance: Achievements, Partnerships, and Sustainable Support’.

Dr. Al Khalifa highlighted that the updated platform includes over 1,100 datasets spanning various sectors, reinforcing Qatar’s commitment to economic diversification and informed policymaking. He emphasized the role of open data in attracting foreign investments and driving evidence-based economic planning, aligning with the goals of Qatar’s National Development Strategy.

The forum also brought together representatives from planning, IT, and quality departments across multiple government bodies to encourage collaboration under the framework of Qatar’s National Data and Statistics Strategy.

The enhanced Qatar Open Data Portal aims to empower users with reliable, accessible data for strategic decision-making, research, business development, and digital innovation—laying a foundation for smarter governance and economic resilience.
