Kuwait City: The Chairman of the Kuwaiti Federation of Eateries, Cafes, and Catering, Fahd Al-Arbash, claimed the effects of the Russian-Ukraine war and global price hikes had had an impact on the country's restaurants.

According to Al-Arbash, the restaurant and food supply industries are suffering as a result of a drop in the simple profit margin of Ramadan meals caused by high pricing for most commodities such as flour, oil, meat, rice, and other staples. He claimed that some ministries' long-term contracts for the delivery of meals for their personnel, notably the Interior Ministry, could result in significant losses because the prices of components needed in the preparation of these meals have grown by 40%. In view of the foregoing, he stated that restaurants must immediately raise their pricing, although this requires approval from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
