CONCERNS OVER KUWAITI DEPOSITS IN LEBANESE BANKS

Kuwait City: MP Hamdan Al-Azmi has forwarded questions to Minister of Finance and Minister of State for Economic and Investment Affairs Abdulwahab Al-Rashid regarding Lebanese Deputy Prime Minister Sa'ada Al-press Shami's statement that the Republic of Lebanon and Central Bank of Lebanon are bankrupt, resulting in losses for Lebanese banks and their clients.


He wishes to know the total amount of Kuwaiti deposits in Lebanese banks, the date and amount of each deposit, whether the deposits were renewed, the reasons for renewal, the current status of Kuwaiti deposits in Lebanese banks, and whether Kuwait communicated with the government of Lebanon following the declaration of bankruptcy.
