KUWAIT MINISTRY OF COMMERCE TIGHTENS CHECKS AT MUBARAK AREA, EIGHT PERFUME SHOPS WERE CLOSED

Kuwait City:  The Capital Emergency Team of the Ministry of Commerce inspected the perfume shops in the Mubarakiya area. Emergency team leader Hamid al-Dafouri said eight perfume shops had been closed for violating the law. 


The Ministry of Commerce has appointed inspectors in the Mubarak region to protect consumers from commercial fraud and price manipulation. The ministry said it would set up a committee in collaboration with other regulatory authorities to regulate the Mubarak market as it is a tourist destination that attracts many visitors in addition to preventing citizens and residents from falling victim to commercial fraud.

Al-Dafouri said some perfume shops have been found to be violating the activities stated in their licenses. The Ministry of Commerce is taking immediate action in this regard, taking into account the situation of fires in the area along with violations. He said the shops would be closed in case any violation was found.
