POULTRY PRICES MAY RISE IN KUWAIT

Kuwait City: A number of poultry enterprises have asked the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to allow them to boost poultry selling prices in Kuwait in line with worldwide pricing increases and rising costs. The companies supported their price hike request by citing the recent 40 percent spike in feed prices, as well as the effects of Ukraine's war on global markets and supply chains, stating that the surge in frozen poultry prices has been tangible in some types.

According to the sources, Ukraine, the world's sixth largest chicken producer, ceased exporting as usual, causing an increase in demand on the Brazilian market, which saw a 10% spike in prices. According to the source, Brazil is one of the most important exporters of frozen poultry to Kuwait, the Gulf nations, and Europe, and prices are rising as a result of intense rivalry among different countries to suit the needs of local markets, as well as a growing European preference for Brazil.
