OVER A MILLION COVID CASES ARE EXPECTED IN NORTH KOREA

  • 16/05/2022

As a wave of Covid cases sweeps the country, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has slammed health officials and ordered the army to assist in the distribution of drugs. According to official media, more than a million people have been affected by what Pyongyang is calling a "fever."

There have been 50 deaths, although it's unknown how many of those suspected instances have tested positive for Covid. Because North Korea's testing capabilities is restricted, only a few examples are confirmed. Because of a lack of vaccines and a poor healthcare system, North Koreans are especially vulnerable to the virus. The remote country is on lockdown.
