THE UNITED STATES WILL EXAMINE THE POLICE RESPONSE TO THE TEXAS SCHOOL SHOOTING

The US Department of Justice has said that it will investigate the police reaction to last week's school massacre in Uvalde, Texas, which murdered 19 students and two instructors.

The public is outraged after it was revealed that officers waited in the corridor as children trapped with the shooter dialled 911.

On Sunday, President Joe Biden met with the victims' families in Uvalde.

He also interacted with survivors and first responders.

First Lady Jill Biden, who is also a teacher, accompanied the president to the Robb Elementary School tribute. They were seen hugging the school's principal, Mandy Gutierrez, next to a carpet of floral tributes for the instructors and children who died, all of whom were under the age of ten.

Both were seen wiping tears from beneath their sunglasses. Mrs Biden touched each child's photo in turn.
