JOE BIDEN IS EXPECTED TO VISIT SAUDI ARABIA AS GAS PRICES RISE

According to those familiar with the situation, President Joe Biden is set to visit Saudi Arabia later this month as part of an overseas trip for Nato and Group of Seven meetings, with record high US petrol prices weighing on his party's political chances.

When Biden visits Saudi Arabia, he will almost certainly see the kingdom's de facto ruler, Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, whom the US president blames for the assassination of a US-based writer in the kingdom's Istanbul consulate in 2018.

People familiar with the situation stated simply that a trip to Saudi Arabia was inevitable, but they did not rule out a meeting with the crown prince. Because Biden's trip arrangements haven't been finalised, they asked not to be identified.
