Kuwait City: Under the leadership and supervision of Colonel Mishaal Al- Suwaiji, personnel from the General Traffic Department's technical inspection sector cordoned off the Khaitan area and arrested many violators, the majority of whom were motorists whose driving licences had expired, and seized vehicles that were found to be unroadworthy. Colonel Mishaal Al-Suwaiji, Director of the Technical Inspection Department, said in an exclusive statement that these campaigns to arrest violators are continuing in all governorates of the country, based on instructions issued by the Minister of Interior Lieutenant-General (Retd) Sheikh Ahmad Al-Nawaf, the Ministry's Undersecretary, Lieutenant-General Anwar Al-Barjas, and the Traffic Sector Undersecretary, Major General Jamal Al-Sayeg.

According to sources, the campaigns are organised to regulate traffic, monitor violators, and confiscate vehicles that are not roadworthy and often endanger drivers and cause catastrophic accidents. He explained that the campaign is intended to raise traffic awareness among citizens and residents and to ensure their safety, particularly with the arrival of the summer season and the frequent occurrence of accidents caused by worn out tyres or inefficiency of the vehicle travelling on the road, which poses a danger and results in the loss of lives and property, emphasising that no vehicle that lacks security and durability conditions should be allowed to escape. Al-Suwaiji concluded that an audit will be conducted on all violating vehicles and a ‘block’ will be placed to check the vehicle’s file and see how the vehicle passed the inspection and legal measures will be taken against the employee who examined it.
