MALFUNCTION OF AUTOMATED INTERIOR MINISTRY SYSTEMS IS SURROUNDED BY QUESTION MARKS

  • 13/06/2022

Kuwait City : The repeated failures of the Ministry of Interior's automated system highlight the importance of taking necessary precautions to prevent networks and systems, as well as the confidentiality of information and data, from being stolen or damaged. The key question on everyone's mind is when the malfunctions will stop and who is to blame for them.

This happened after the ministry's system was down for the second time in a week, causing confusion and congestion at the airport and other ports, despite rising warnings from officials and technical experts who described the situation as "alarming." According to the sources, the automated system failed twice in a week for no apparent reason. Are there other reasons for purposely disrupting production, such as external attacks or so-called hackers?

According to the sources, the failure of the automated system at the international airport, land and sea ports is a very dangerous matter because it could help wanted persons flee the country, as well as those who have been issued a travel ban, or allow those who have been banned to enter the country, despite the existence of an alternative system that is used only when necessary – a system that cannot be fully reliant on.

According to the sources, the international airport and land ports see a high volume of travelers throughout the summer season, necessitating greater precautions to ensure that the automated system does not fail repeatedly. Due to the simultaneous arrival of five flights, the system breakdown prompted lines in front of the passport counters for almost an hour and a half.
