Dubai: Nearly half of all companies in the UAE are reportedly preparing for a pay rise this year. According to a survey conducted by professional services firm Aeon, many companies have already made the necessary adjustments in their companies' annual budgets to pay higher salaries to their employees, including factors such as inflation and competition in the labor market.

The company has published the results of a survey of 150 companies operating in various sectors in the UAE. The data was collected from companies in the country during the first two weeks of June. Forty-nine percent of companies surveyed have set aside money in their annual budgets to bring in pay rises this time around.

Seventy-five percent of companies surveyed admitted that they face pressures, including pay rises, to retain their best employees and attract better human resources. According to the survey, 49 per cent of companies are planning to bring in a pay rise this year, while 14 per cent are considering another pay rise in the second half of this year.
