UAE ALLOWS CHILDREN TO WORK DURING HOLIDAYS

Abu Dhabi: The UAE government has granted children the right to work during holidays under stringent circumstances. The Ministry of Human Resource Indigenization has a new opportunity for 15 outstanding students. You will receive a work experience certificate in addition to acquiring job experience.

With their parents' permission, students can enter into three-month employment contracts. The contract should specify the nature of the work. Wages, weekend leave, and working hours each day should all be defined in the contract. Students should not be required to work under harsh conditions.

The ministry has also limited their access to vocational training.  Children are not permitted to work between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. The maximum workday is six hours. One hour can be set aside for tasks like eating and praying. It is also advised not to work for 4 hours straight without taking a break. The training period will be considered working hours. Children who complete three months of job or vocational training should be issued a work experience/training certificate by the institution. Their performance at this time should be reviewed.

However, employment and training during holidays are ineligible for service benefits. Officials have stated that no extra holidays will be permitted during this time, with the exception of the holiday specified in the job contract.
