KUWAITIS WILL BE APPOINTED INSTEAD OF EXPATRIATES IN COOPERATIVES

Kuwait City: The government will speed up the decision to allow Kuwaitis high-level jobs such as assistant supervisor jobs and managerial positions in supermarkets and cooperatives, a local daily reported.


According to the report, the co-operatives have provided the Ministry of Social Affairs with a list of vacancies currently occupied by foreigners. According to the report, 480 expatriates will be replaced by Kuwaitis in cooperatives.

Meanwhile, the Civil Service Commission listed 2,275 Kuwaitis for employment in the private sector. The Ministry of Social Affairs has agreed with the Union of Consumer Cooperative Societies to conduct a thorough review of the work in the local cooperatives to meet the deadlines in line with the Kuwaitization policy. That would mean displacing many non-Kuwaitis.
