PFIZER IS BEING SUED BY MODERNA OVER COVID VACCINE TECHNOLOGY

According to Moderna, the first Covid-19 vaccine was developed with patent infringement by Pfizer and its German partner BioNTech.

The US pharmaceutical company claims that mRNA technology that it created prior to the pandemic was stolen.

The lawsuit was filed in both the US and Germany and asks for unspecified monetary damages.

Pfizer stated that it was unable to comment at this time because it had not yet received the legal documents.

Pfizer/BioNTech violated Moderna's intellectual property in two ways, the company claimed in a statement. One concerned an mRNA structure that, according to Moderna, its researchers started developing in 2010 and were the first to validate in human trials in 2015.
