REGULATION OF OPENING HOURS OF SHOPS IN PRIVATE HOUSING AREAS IN KUWAIT

Kuwait City: The working hours of shops operating in private residential areas except central markets are being tightened to a maximum of 12 midnight. In this regard, Kuwait Municipality authorities reiterated the need to implement Resolution 215 of 2009. The Ministry of Home Affairs will decide in case of any request for exemption for certain commercial activities including pharmacies.


One of the most important proposals that requires the Home Ministry's approval is to allow certain departments to operate online without customers arriving. The decision will be implemented in public interest. Sources said that the objective is to achieve safety and peace in private housing areas and to protect the youth from any adverse situation.
