PRIVATE RESIDENTIAL AREAS SHOPS, GROCERIES, AND RESTAURANTS SHOULD CLOSE AT 12.00 MIDNIGHT

Kuwait City: Three days after the Kuwait Municipality's decision to require shops, groceries, and restaurants in private residential areas to close at 12:00 midnight, Municipality teams are still monitoring these establishments to ensure strict adherence to the directive.


According to the source, the first step against those found to have violated the directive is a warning, followed by the closure of the establishment if the violation continues. He stated that the Municipality's Director General, Engr Ahmed Al-Manfouhi, has instructed the audit and follow-up departments in the branches to strictly implement the decision, indicating that the aforementioned establishments are permitted to open at 6:00 a.m. 

According to the source, the Municipality is a well-organized body that makes decisions at the request of the relevant authorities, particularly the Ministry of Interior. As a result, any request will be approved immediately, especially those aimed at ensuring the security and safety of citizens and expatriates, according to the source. In a related development, a security source told the daily that the ministry's role in this regard is to provide assistance as needed, as the closure of shops and restaurants falls outside of its purview.
