EMPLOYEES TO FACE JOB LOSING

The employees who were sent by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) to study abroad and have completed their studies and received academic certificates from universities in some American states might lose their jobs in the government sector, reports Al- Anba daily quoting informed sources.

In a press statement, theyindicated that these employees are located in states within the United Statesof America where there are no offices of the Kuwait Airways Corporation (KAC),as these offices were closed following the issuance of the decision to suspendflights of Kuwaiti aircraft. The sources added, “The regulations require thoseon scholarships to return onboard Kuwait Airways within a period of two monthsafter they complete their studies, as per the conditions of the Civil ServiceCommission. Otherwise, they will not be entitled to return to the jobs theywere working in before they left for studies.

According to the instructions which are now in effect, thereis no provision to compensate them for the price of tickets in the event ofusing any other airline besides Kuwait Airways”. The sources called on CSC toaddress the Cabinet and find a way to ensure the safe return of these employeesin a timely manner in order for them to resume their jobs or compensate themfor the cost of the ticket’s return price if they bear it.
