India has appointed Paramita Tripathi, a career diplomat from the 2001 Indian Foreign Service batch, as the country's new ambassador to Kuwait. Currently serving as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs, Ms. Tripathi brings substantial diplomatic experience from her previous roles including Deputy High Commissioner in Singapore from 2013.
Throughout her career, she has handled important desks at the Ministry's headquarters including Pakistan, United Nations, and East Asia divisions focusing on Japan, China, and Korea. Her international postings have included Brussels (2003-2005) and Tokyo (2008-2011), providing her with diverse regional expertise.
Ms. Tripathi holds a Master's degree in Geography from Jawaharlal Nehru University and is proficient in English, Hindi, and Bengali with functional knowledge of French. She is expected to assume her new responsibilities in Kuwait shortly, succeeding the previous ambassador and continuing to strengthen bilateral relations between India and Kuwait.
