ONLY 8% OF KUWAIT'S URBAN LAND IS EXPLOTED

Kuwait City: The number of houses in Kuwait has reached approximately 159,000, accounting for 74.76 percent of the total of 213,000 buildings spread across various governorates. Data from the Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI) show that 140,000 homes are designated for housing, 102,200 for housing and commercial, and 1,170 for commercial.


Kuwait has a total of 6,922 vacant homes. There are approximately 3,800 temporary buildings, 1,600 under construction buildings, and 35,300 other buildings classified as other items. According to the most recent Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW) statistics, there were approximately 94,900 housing requests. 

According to a Real Estate Union study, the area of exploited urban lands in Kuwait does not exceed 8%. Out of Kuwait's total land area of 18,000 square kilometres, the total area of exploited urban lands is 1,445 square kilometres, including areas common to all regions.
