Omicron subvariant XBB.1.5 could go wild in Europe

Within a few months, Omicron subvariant XBB.1.5 may overtake all other strains in Europe, according to the EU's disease agency. The subvariant is thought to be the most contagious one so far. The health organization stated that the estimated level of risk for the subvariant was low. For those who are more susceptible, such as the elderly, those who have had no vaccinations, and those with compromised immune systems, the risk is moderate to high. 38 countries have reported cases of XBB.1.5.
