Toots Ople, the secretary for migrant labor, stated that Despite this crime, Manila is not contemplating stopping the sending of workers to Kuwait. Instead, it will look for more protection for its employees there.

The Ministry of Labor declared in a public statement that the labor agreements concluded between us and Kuwait should be reviewed. The system for our employee's protection needs to be strengthened. Such transgressions and abuses won't be tolerated again. The ministry has already started looking into and researching additional wrongdoings and abuses that workers might have encountered in Kuwait.
