Head of Organ Provision Unit at Health Ministry calls for urgent action to prevent organ trade

Kuwait City, Feb 3: The head of the Kuwaiti Society for Organ Transplantation, Dr. Mustafa Al-Musawi, head of the Organ Provision Unit at the Ministry of Health, stressed the need for urgent action to prevent the continued trade of organs in Kuwait. He pointed out the incident that the kidney is sold for an amount of approximately 20 thousand dinars outside the framework of the law.

He pointed out the widespread advertisements about the request to donate organs, especially kidneys, and the need for urgent action to prevent them, and punish those behind them. The matter reached the point of hanging banners in the public roads and inside residential areas, especially the expatriate areas, which is an explicit legal violation.
