Kuwait's Al-Haddad wins award for best international research on cancer

In a new achievement recorded by Kuwait University, a faculty member in the Department of Chemistry, Dr. Laila Al-Haddad, with the research team from King Saud University won the International best research award in the field of studying cancer diseases from the ISSN International Awards and Congress 2023-IIRAC.

For its part, the research team represented by Dr. Al-Haddad, and each of Dr. Jamal Eddin Harissa, and Dr. Fares Al-Enezi from King Saud University in Saudi Arabia did research on design of chemical compounds that are similar to drugs that reduce heartburn in the body. According to the team, biological analysis results showed that these compounds are anti-cancer because they slow the growth of breast cancer cells by less than 3.73 micromolar amounts.
