On Friday, the United Nations condemned the recent executions carried out by Kuwait and Singapore and called on the two countries to stop applying the punishment. Singapore on Friday executed a woman convicted of drug trafficking, the country's first execution of a woman in nearly two decades, officials said. As for Kuwait, it executed five people, on Thursday, including the main convict in a bombing that targeted a mosque in 2015, which killed 26 people.
