Kuwait has called on the global community to take concrete steps to protect the fundamental rights of the Palestinian people. During an interactive dialogue at the 58th session of the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC), Kuwait’s Permanent Representative to the UN in Geneva, Naser Abdullah Al-Hayen, emphasized the need for an immediate ceasefire in the occupied Palestinian territories. He also stressed the importance of ensuring unrestricted humanitarian assistance to those affected by the ongoing conflict.

Ambassador Al-Hayen expressed deep concern over the continued violations committed by the occupying power, Israel, citing severe breaches of international humanitarian law and the UN Charter. He highlighted the devastating impact of Israeli actions in Gaza and the West Bank, pointing to large-scale destruction, forced evictions, and recent atrocities in the Jenin refugee camp. Kuwait firmly opposes the application of double standards in addressing humanitarian crises and calls for a fair and consistent approach.

Reaffirming Kuwait’s unwavering support for Palestinian statehood, Al-Hayen reiterated the country's commitment to the establishment of an independent Palestine with East Jerusalem as its capital. He urged adherence to the 1967 borders as outlined by UN resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative, emphasizing that sustainable peace in the region requires upholding the rights and sovereignty of the Palestinian people.
