A Kuwaiti doctor specializing in mental health has been convicted in absentia for fraudulently receiving a full salary despite being absent from work for 15 years. Investigations by the Legal Department at the Ministry of Health revealed that the doctor, in collusion with another employee, continued to receive payments while residing abroad. Following an official report to the Public Prosecution, the Criminal Investigations Department confirmed through travel records that the doctor had been living outside the country for over a decade. Consequently, the Criminal Court sentenced him to five years in prison and imposed a KD 1 million fine, while authorities have taken necessary legal actions against those involved.
