In a successful operation, the General Administration of Coast Guard thwarted a major drug smuggling attempt, seizing a large quantity of narcotics and arresting three Iranian nationals. The suspects were caught attempting to smuggle drugs into Kuwait through its territorial waters.
Authorities confiscated approximately 125 kilograms of hashish, 9 hashish sticks, 8 strips of Lyrica, and 5 bags of Captagon pills. The estimated market value of the seized contraband is around 500,000 Kuwaiti dinars.
The operation was initiated after the Coast Guard's advanced radar system detected a suspicious boat entering Kuwaiti waters. Patrol units swiftly intercepted the vessel, arresting the suspects and recovering the illegal substances.
The Ministry of Interior reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding Kuwait's territorial waters and preventing smuggling attempts. It emphasized that security forces remain vigilant and fully prepared to protect the country’s stability.
