Abu Dhabi has inaugurated a new local vaccine distribution hub aimed at improving supply chain efficiency across regional markets and strengthening global vaccine access. The announcement was made during the Abu Dhabi Global Health Week (ADGHW) 2025, with Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan presiding over the launch.
The center was established following a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH) and global biopharmaceutical company GSK. This initiative supports ongoing efforts to enhance vaccine development, research, and accessibility for all community members.
The hub is designed to play a vital role in ensuring timely access to life-saving vaccines, bolstering public health systems, and improving disease preparedness and response, both locally and globally. Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled emphasized the importance of collaboration in building resilient healthcare systems capable of handling public health emergencies.
Mansoor Ibrahim Al Mansoori, Chairman of DoH Abu Dhabi, highlighted the operational readiness of the hub, stating that it is more than just a logistical achievement—it is a backbone for a robust and future-ready healthcare system.
GSK Board Chairman Sir Jonathan Symonds noted that this partnership underscores their commitment to building a healthier future and demonstrates the impact of joint efforts in enhancing community-level immunity and public health resilience.
