Sharjah: Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, an international disability conference will take place on October 1, highlighting the emirate’s commitment to inclusion and evidence-based solutions for people with disabilities.

Organised by the Khorfakkan Club for the Disabled, the conference is the result of years of dedicated efforts to support and empower individuals with disabilities in Sharjah and the wider region. It aims to merge research with actionable solutions to enhance disability-related programmes and policies.

This year’s edition will gather experts and researchers to present studies, share experiences, and propose strategies to address current challenges. By focusing on adapted physical education and broader inclusion, the event seeks to build a stronger network of knowledge exchange that can drive meaningful social change.

Sharjah’s approach underlines that empowerment comes from collaboration and scientific advancement. The Khorfakkan Club for the Disabled continues to play a vital role in not just sports, but also in research, community outreach, and initiatives that improve the well-being of people with disabilities.

With improved planning and enhanced scientific contributions, the international disability conference is expected to deliver valuable recommendations that will help shape more inclusive policies and sustainable development across Sharjah and the region.
