Dubai Municipality has ramped up food safety efforts, conducting 34,700 inspections during the first half of 2025. These inspections targeted food establishments across the emirate to ensure strict compliance with hygiene and safety standards, reinforcing the city's dedication to public health and sustainable food systems.

This initiative aligns with Dubai’s broader vision to enhance the quality of life for residents and visitors. The city’s food sector is experiencing rapid growth, marked by the launch of 2,336 new food businesses during the same period—highlighting Dubai’s appeal as a global destination for food and hospitality investments.

Additionally, Dubai processed nearly 173,775 food shipments, totaling 4.9 million tons, through its ports. These figures underscore its status as a key regional and international food trade hub. Dubai Municipality also cleared approximately 940,000 food items post-inspection and registered around 77,700 new food products using advanced digital platforms.

Dr. Sultan Al Taher, Director of the Food Safety Department, emphasized that these efforts aim to uphold the highest food safety standards, foster public confidence, and build a resilient and sustainable food ecosystem. By integrating smart technologies, Dubai continues to set global benchmarks in food regulation and consumer protection.
