A new paid parking system has been activated in Al Shahama, Abu Dhabi, introducing 3,704 parking spaces to address increasing traffic congestion in the rapidly developing area. The system, managed by Q Mobility under the Integrated Transport Centre's supervision, includes 40 dedicated spaces for People of Determination.
The initiative responds to Al Shahama's growth as a popular destination with new schools, malls, and community facilities, which has led to traffic challenges affecting access to residential and commercial buildings. Drivers will pay 2 dirhams per hour through digital platforms like Darb and TAMM applications, with fines imposed for violations. The system aims to optimize parking space usage and improve overall traffic flow in the area.
