His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has launched the "Volunteering and Community Engagement Ecosystem," a comprehensive national initiative designed to significantly expand the culture of volunteering in the UAE.

The project aims to increase the number of active volunteers to 600,000 and raise the UAE's global ranking on the World Giving Index. Key components of the plan include:

  • A new unified digital platform, Volunteers.ae 2.0, to connect volunteers with opportunities.
  • A 100 million dirham fund to support non-profit organizations.
  • A goal to increase the number of non-profit institutions by 30%.
  • A nationwide campaign, "7 Over 7," to promote skilled volunteering across all emirates.

Sheikh Mohammed stated that the initiative aims to make volunteering and community service a fundamental part of the national identity. The ecosystem's five-year goals also include doubling the non-profit sector's contribution to the GDP and creating 10,000 new jobs in the sector.
