Kuwait's Ministry of Interior has announced the arrest of three individuals for operating a large factory that produced counterfeit perfumes in the Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area. The raid was conducted by the Department for the Protection of Public Morals and Combating Human Trafficking as part of a broader crackdown on intellectual property crimes and commercial fraud. The operation was strategically timed ahead of an upcoming perfume exhibition, preventing the fake goods from flooding the local market.
In a coordinated effort with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and Kuwait Municipality, authorities seized a massive quantity of counterfeit items from the facility. The haul included over 15,000 packaging boxes and 28,000 bottles of perfume that were ready for distribution and sale. The factory itself was destroyed following the raid.
The ministry reaffirmed its commitment to protecting consumers and combating all forms of commercial fraud. The suspects and the seized counterfeit goods have been handed over to the relevant authorities for legal action. The public is urged to report any suspicious activities that threaten community safety or the country's economic security through the emergency number (112) or other official channels.
