Kuwaiti Surgeons Conduct 1st Liver Transplant

Kuwait City : A Kuwaiti medical team has successfully conducted a liver transplant. It is first such procedure performed by Kuwaiti specialists. One of the member in the team said that the six hour transplant was performed on a Kuwaiti woman who suffered from liver cirrhosis and its complications.  Dr Mohammed Jamal said that "The patient's health condition is constantly improving and the transplanted liver functions well," He also added that "The operation was the 12th liver transplant conducted in Kuwait. But, it was the first liver transplant operation that was fully carried out by a Kuwaiti team,"  He even called the operation an "inspiring historic medial achievement."
