HUMAN TRAFFICKING AND BRIBERY: 4 YEARS IMPRISONMENT WITH FINE FOR BANGLADESHI MP

Kuwait City: The criminal court headed by counselor Abdullah Al Othman ruled A 4 year prison sentence with hard labour for Bangladeshi MP Sheikh Mazen Al-Jarrah of Ministry of Interior, the Director of the Public Authority for Manpower Hassan Al-Khader,a  former senior official Navaf Al-Mutairi,over major bribery scandal.Also Bangladeshi MP Al-Jarrah and Al Mutairi where fined one million and 970000 dinar each.The court also decided to dismiss Jarrah and Al-Khader other from their positions.

This was one of the biggest corruption cases to be handled by Kuwaiti courts. The Bangladeshi MP was arrested several months ago. He was charged with trafficking in persons by recruiting Bangladeshi workers by charging them illegal fees and for giving bribes to senior officials and MPs get his business done.It is expected that the public prosecutor will appeal for maximum punishment where as the accused will plea for innocence and cancel their conviction against them.
