KUWAIT'S MESSAGE TO THE SECURITY COUNCIL REGARDING THE MATTER OF 13 MARTYRS

Kuwait City : The Kuwaiti High Commissioner , Ambassador Mansour Al-Otaibi, the Permanent Representative of the State of Kuwait to the United Nations, has written to the President of the United Nations Security Council regarding the discovery of the  remains of 13 Kuwaiti prisoners, missing persons and third nationals identified during the 1990 invasion of Iraq.

The letter said that after intensive efforts, information on two cemeteries in Iraq had been obtained and submitted to a technical subcommittee, and that an Iraqi technical team, in th esupervison by the International Committee of the Red Cross, had decided to inspect both sites for the remains of missing persons.

He emphasised  that after the results of accurate genetic testing ,the remains inconsistent with the  informations on prisoners and missing persons, will be handed over to the Iraqi side as soon as possible
