VIOLATION OF EPA CARRIES A MAXIMUM FINE OF 5000 DINARS

Kuwait City :Following the discovery of a number of environmental violations, such as the direct discharge of wastewater into the sea and the dumping of waste and debris outside designated areas ,Sheikh Al Ibrahim, Director of Public Relations and Media  told the media that a team of environmental police and technical experts led by the Environmental Public Authority (EPA) had visited the area of Sabah Al Ahmed Marine City, for inspections.



He added that in addition to the violations found by the team, field tests were also conducted to check the quality of the seawater to ensure compliance with environmental standards. He explained that the citations were based on Article 18, Article 97 and Article 32 of the PA Act. Fines range from 250 to 5,000 dinars, depending on the nature of the violation


The Environmental Public Authority and the Kuwait Dive Team have signed a cooperation agreement for the removal of debris, sunken ships and boats from the seabed under a plan aimed at ensuring the protection of the marine environment and the wildlife it contains and mitigating the threat it poses.
