FEBRUARY OPEN HOUSE ;REMARKS BY AMBASSADOR SIBI GEORGE

Kuwait City ;Ambassador Sibi George addressed  the february open house . He welcomed the office bearers of various associations and the media representatives . He thanked  His Highness Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Crown Prince His Highness Sheikh Mishaal Al- Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah for hosting the large Indian community in Kuwait. 

He shared his concern and  thoughts about the current pandemic situation .He  said  that in the first week of February the Mission issued an advisory to the community in view of the evolving Covid 19 pandemic situation and  had seen that in recent weeks there is a spike in cases.He pointed out that The Government of State of Kuwait has consistently emphasized on the need to follow all the precautionary measures and guidelines issued by the concerned authorities and   All Indian nationals are urged to take all necessary precautions in this regard including by avoiding all social gatherings.

He requested the Indian Community members, specifically the ones who have had a recent history of contact with any covid-19 positive patient and/or showing any symptoms to immediately visit the nearest health facility for appropriate medical consultation/check-up without any hesitation or delay as  the Embassy is ready to provide any assistance including meeting the medical expenses for all emergency medical cases on a means tested basis.
The Embassy and the ICSG is ready to provide all support to those in need like providing air tickets for all deserving cases and  make travel arrangements for those who need medical escort. He noted that as  part of the Vande Bharat Mission over One lakh eighty five thousand Indians have travelled back to India from Kuwait. The Mission is still operational and can contact  Embassy or the ICSG or any of the associations registered with the Embassy for any requirements or support. 

He expressed his heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their family members. He urged   all associations and all media representatives  to convey the  message to all members of the community.He assured that we  can find a solution to all problems as all ready to extend full support to those in need especially   ICSG group,  associations, Indian Doctors Forum, other medical professionals groups etc. 

He  also informed that two hundred thousand doses of Made in India vaccine Covishield vaccines have arrived in Kuwait on February 1 which helped the Ministry of Health to vaccinate many including many of our health workers from India. Finally he  announced that on February 23 they are organizing a special session  on combating Covid 19 pandemic where a team of senior doctors from Indian Doctors Forum will speak on the pandemic and ways and means to address the situation.
