44% KUWAITIS ARE NATIONALS AS PART OF WORKFORCE, INDIANS IN FRONTLINE

Kuwait City: It is estimated that 44% of Kuwaitis are employed in the public and private sectors. As of December 2020, there were 2.07 million natives and non-natives working in the public and private sectors in the country. Indians are ahead.


According to official figures from the Civil Information Public Authority, the government sector accounts for 23 per cent of the country's total workforce. The region employs 470,000 citizens and residents. The remaining 77 percent, or 1.599 million citizens and residents, work in the private sector.

About 20 percent, or 416,760 citizens, work in the country. Indians (25 per cent) and Egyptians (24 per cent) are ahead of Kuwaitis. Eighty-five percent of all Kuwaiti nationals employed are in the government sector. The remaining 15 percent, 62,531 Kuwaiti nationals, work in other sectors.
