INDIAN EMBASSY WARNED TRAVELERS TO BE CAREFUL WHEN CARRYING MEDICINES

Doha: The Indian Embassy has issued a warning to those traveling to Qatar who carry medicines. The Indian embassy said that the drugs should be brought to Qatar in strict compliance with the standards to ensure that they do not contain banned drugs.


Only certain amounts of drugs permitted in Qatar for personal use. Passengers should have a doctor's prescription from an approved government hospital, including the requirement to take the medication with them. Only medicines for 30 days are allowed.

Lyric, Tramadol, Alprazolam (Sanax), Diaspam (Valium), Solam, Clonazepam, Solpedim, Codeine, Methadone and Pregabalin are all banned in Qatar. Drugs containing psychotropic and narcotic substances are banned in Qatar. Passengers should be careful as those who bring drugs banned in Qatar could face legal action, including arrest and imprisonment. The Indian embassy has also directed passengers not to bring medicines for friends and family.
