Kuwait City: The local newspaper reported that Lt. Gen. Sheikh Faisal al-Nawaf, the undersecretary of the Interior Ministry, had instructed security personnel in uniform not to sit and eat in restaurants.

However, buying food from restaurants or sitting in the office is not prohibited, and security officers on duty at shopping malls or complexes are advised not to carry coffee mugs or refreshment cups.

Lt. Gen. Sheikh al-Nawaf said the move was aimed at preventing security officials from criticizing the people and maintaining the dignity of the ministry.
