FOREIGNER SENTENCED TO 12 MONTHS IN JAIL FOR PRODUCING FAKE CORONA TEST CERTIFICATE

Manama:  A foreigner has been sentenced to 12 months in prison for producing a fake corona verification certificate to make a fake trip through the King Fahd Causeway between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.


The court also ordered that he be deported after serving his sentence. The 41-year-old accused left for Saudi Arabia on June 30.

The trip was to take two managers of his company from Saudi Arabia to Bahrain. The two were arrested on their way back to Saudi Arabia the same day. The court had yesterday found the accused guilty at the end of the trial. The case records show that there is a lot of evidence against him.

Defendant told the judges that he had been instructed to bring the managers to Bahrain as soon as possible. Therefore, there was no time for medical examination. Instead, he sought help from someone on social media. He also told the court that he had prepared and issued a fake corona examination certificate.
