RECRUITMENT OF DOMESTIC WORKERS, MP WANTS LAW TO BE AMENDED

Kuwait City: The MP demanded that the appointment regarding the recruitment of domestic workers should be amended. MP Osama Al Menawar has submitted a bill seeking to amend Domestic Labor Law No: 68/2015.


Article 3 of this Act requires the writing of a paragraph. The MP suggested that citizens who wish to recruit domestic workers for their own family through direct contract should be exempted from the requirement to obtain a license from the Home Ministry to recruit foreign workers. 

Citizens must sign contracts with domestic employment recruitment offices to hire foreign workers. Therefore, the MP explained that the above situation is due to the high cost of hiring domestic workers.
