TWO EXPATRIATES DROWNED AT MESSILA BEACH

Kuwait City: Nine people have been found missing during a swimming training session at Messila Beach. Two of them died. The General Fire Force said the retaliation for one person would continue.


Two of the injured were rushed to hospital by ambulance but later succumbed to their injuries, the fire department said in a statement.

A search was conducted for two missing persons but only one of them was found. The fire brigade said the rescue team was still searching for the missing man.

The Coast Guard's operation room received a report that ten people had difficulty swimming due to strong currents. The Coast Guard patrolled the area and handcuffed nine people.
The ministry said in a statement that the condition of the other seven was "satisfactory" as the search for the missing person continued.

The statement said swimmers should be vigilant and take safety precautions and contact the Coast Guard's operation room at 1880888 or the emergency hotline 112.
