Kuwait City: More than 300 workers at a company in the Farwaniya governorate went on strike yesterday morning after failing to receive their salaries for more than three months. Following the announcement, representatives from the Department of Labor immediately went to the scene and inquired about the strike, its causes and the demands of the workers.

The inspectors then registered a report and launched an investigation. Azeel al-Masyad, PR & media manager and official spokesman for PAM, said the striking workers had not been paid for more than three months.

The workers also claimed to have paid some money to renew their visas. Representatives of the Public Authority for Human Resources heard the workers' complaints.

The workers were assured that they would work with other concerned agencies to resolve the issue immediately following legal and administrative procedures. Employees of the Ministry of Hydropower had staged a sit-in protest at the ministry headquarters yesterday demanding various things.
