KUWAIT MINISTRY OF FINANCE URGES MINISTRIES TO CUT SPENDING IN THE 2022-23 FINANCIAL YEAR

Kuwait City:  Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al Khalid presided over an extraordinary cabinet meeting at the Saif Palace. At this meeting, the Ministry of Finance directed the Ministries and their affiliated authorities to reduce expenditure in the financial year 2022-23. Employees are advised not to include car rental funds and mobile phones as benefits.


In the 2022-23 budget, the Ministry of Finance is taking a number of measures to reduce spending. As part of this, it is giving strict instructions to ministries, government agencies and affiliated institutions. Sources said there were four other measures to reduce costs at the level of non-Kuwaiti employees working in the government sector.
