INDIAN EMBASSY IN KUWAIT HOSTED HISTORIC EVENT TITLED 'INDIA, THE GLOBAL HEALTHCARE DESTINATION'

Kuwait City:  The Indian Embassy in Kuwait hosted a historic event titled 'India: The Global Healthcare Destination' to mark the historic achievement of one billion doses of covid vaccination in India. External Affairs Minister S Jayashankar delivered the audio message at the inauguration ceremony by Ambassador Sibi George. As part of the program, a week-long breast cancer awareness campaign has been organized. The campaign is being organized in collaboration with the Indian Doctors' Forum and the Indian Women's Network. Madhu Gupta, Dr. Susowana Sujith Nair, Dr. Rifat Jehan, Dr. Tasmeem Ameer, Dr. Tasneem Jasvi was also present. Many of the women who attended the ceremony took advantage of the medical screening facility. The camp will be held at the embassy premises from 3 to 5 pm until October 27, embassy officials said. 


India has distributed 100 million doses in nine months. Of these, 74 per cent received the first dose and 34 per cent the two doses. More than 65 per cent of vaccinations were given in rural areas. As part of the festivities, a song and video recording of the famous singer Kailash Kher was released.
