DRIVING LICENSE, RC ORIGINAL NUMBER, DIGITAL DOCUMENTS WILL BE ACCEPTED AT TRAFFIC INSPECTION

Kuwait City: The General Traffic Department has announced that digital copies of vehicle-related documents such as driving licenses and RCs will be accepted instead of the originals. Authorities plan to add digital copies of such documents to the mobile phone through an application similar to My Identity. The My Identity app was previously widely used by government and private companies to complete transactions. 


Following the success of this, the Department of Transport announced a new decision. With this, both nationals and foreigners can show digital copies of their security license even if they forget their driving license and civil ID in the wallet. In the meantime, state - of - the - art technology will be used for traffic inspections and police patrols. Officials said the new reforms were part of a move to modernize the transportation system.
